Dedicated Server
The following hardware and software specifications are recommended for a dedicated
AIMS server. If the server is not dedicated and other applications will run
on the server in addition to AIMS, the server may have to be upgraded in size
and capacity to handle the additional throughput and possible contention with
other applications
Concurrent Users
The number of connected users (user access points) is a function of the database
license purchased by the user and not a function of the AIMS application. AIMS
application users are unlimited after the purchase of fifty (50) AIMS User Licenses.
Other Considerations
This recommended hardware specification does not take into account the compensation that may be required for degradation in the users’ WAN. Therefore, the WAN environment is out of scope for this hardware specification. However, the user should thoroughly understand their WAN environment for impact of latency and throughput and consider increasing network and hardware capacity to help compensate for contention in the WAN conduit.
AIMS is ODBC (Open Data Base Connectivity) compatible. This
allows AIMS to be accessed through ODBC and to interface with any other ODBC
standard software package.
